LOCUS

Privacy Policy

Effective August 11, 2026

LOCUS helps pre-health students find local opportunities and track their hours. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and why.

What we collect

Your email and name when you sign in (via Google or an emailed code); the profile you build during onboarding (school, year, interests, goals); the hours, shifts, and reflections you log; and product usage events (pages visited, features used). If you join the waitlist, we collect the email and city/campus you submit.

What we do with it

We use your profile to match and rank opportunities for you, your logs to show your own history and progress, and usage events to understand what's working and keep the product secure. That's it.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't run third-party analytics or advertising trackers — usage events go to our own database and nowhere else. The only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) with row-level security, and the site is hosted on Vercel. If you sign in with Google, Google's own privacy policy governs what they share with us (your name and email).

Your choices

Email us at hello@joinlocus.org to request a copy of your data or to delete your account and everything in it. We'll act on deletion requests within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll note it here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, email you.
